Current Intern(s)

Michael Taylor

We first met Michael with MTSU SVA, as part of his program he needed an internship and we were happy to have him come on board, Michael brings a wealth of knowledge with Legislation and Non-Profit Programs.

Bio:

Michael is a military veteran from Murfreesboro, TN, currently based in Nashville, TN. Michael brings discipline, integrity, and a strong sense of purpose to every role he takes on.

As a former member of the Tennessee Army National Guard, Military Police Corps, and a Global War on Terror veteran, he has over eight years of leadership experience in the military and private security sector, which he ultimately hopes to bring to the non-profit sector following his graduation from college.

Michael is completing his senior year at Middle Tennessee State University, where he served as Vice President and Policy Liaison of the university’s Student Veterans of America chapter, SVA-B.R.A.V.O. There, he led efforts to strengthen campus support for student veterans through advocacy and engagement.

He also gained experience in government and veterans’ policy as a congressional intern, assisting with constituent services and community outreach.

Now, as an intern with Cooking With A Veteran, Michael aims to help the organization fight food scarcity in the veteran and local communities, support efforts to advance legislation at the state and federal level to help veterans and their families, and build strategic partnerships across the Greater Nashville area—further aligning with his long-term commitment to service, leadership, and veteran advocacy.
