From Bland to BAM: Vol. II

This second edition of @cookingwithaveteran “From Bland to BAM” takes readers on a journey of stretching out staples and dealing with left-overs. In this day and age where everything is expensive, shopping gets a little harder, and we are not in college eating the same thing every night, Dave explores how to take those items and make them something new.

The book starts with dealing with items like potatoes, corn, eggs, and other staple items we buy, but never know what to do with all the extra. Exploring 14 things to do with all those extra potatoes, 5 ways to address corn on the cob, 4 ways to not waste cabbage, as well as creating seasonings and butters to spice them up.

The other half of the book deals with things like turning meatloaf in to American Goulash, Sloppy Joe’s, or making chili out of left-over BBQ. Not to mention a section of turning left-overs into fun egg rolls for lunch and snacks for your kids.

From Bland to BAM: Breakfast

This second in the series of “Bland to BAM” takes you through the world of Breakfast. Dave has always found it interested how come different cultures handle breakfast and wanted to take you on that journey.

Couple of unique things in this book is:
1. All meals are cooked in a Smithey No. 12 Pan and Griddle combo
2. Meals include not only some of his favorite breakfast meals like pancakes, but also features a couple of “Grunt Style” original recipes.

You will surely enjoy this book if you are a breakfast lover, and also if you like having breakfast more than in the morning.

From Bland to BAM: Soups and Stews

This 4th book in the series takes you through the wonderful world of soups and stews.

Growing up we ate a lot of canned soup which was normally salty and not really healthy for you. As I traveled around the world I was able to experience soups and stews in a new way. Many cultures create soups and stews in a variety of ways, and this cookbook explores that.

The book contains 28 recipes of soups and stews, 2 bread recipes to sop up your soups and stews.

As well as Kitchen Conversion Charts, Odd Measuring Chart and a Temperature Chart.

For those that follow me and my show, instead of photos of me and friends traveling around the world of veterans, this book contains photos of Grunt and his world.

From Bland to BAM: Vol. V

From Bland to BAM Vol. V explores a range of Italian inspired foods, Chicken Dishes, side dish ideas and beef and pork. This 103 page book is the latest in the Bland to BAM series, taking the reader to various dishes cooked on the on-line show and lets them explore these meals through the eyes of the Founder and Chef of Cooking with a Veteran Inc. Dave Rogers. Who learned a lot of his cooking traveling through various countries both while in the Army and after.
