SUPPORT OUR VETERANS plate is a program to help Active Military, Veterans, and their families in the state of TN.
Once the program is active, money for this program will be used as follows:
HELP Active Military, Veterans and their families put food on their table. Cooking with a Veteran program provides grocery shopping cards to the VA and VSO’s in TN. This program will allow us to help more veterans and their families across TN.
SMALL GRANTS to help veterans and their families. So often we hear of a veteran or a family member of a veteran or active military needing a little help. VSO’s and Veteran Organizations across the state can reach out to us to help that veteran or family member with small grants to help them.
VETERAN ORGANIZATION GRANTS: Veteran Organizations will be able to apply for a small grant to do things like feed veterans in their communities, or build access for veterans, provide things for homeless veterans.

- How do I know this is real? The plate was authorized by the state of TN Senate,
SECTION 27. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 55-4-203(c)(7) part of Amendment No. 1 to SB0203. In order for us to get this plate we have to be a registered 501(c)3 not just with the IRS, but in the State of TN. We have to report all plates to the TN State Revenue Service, and must be used in the State of TN as outlined in the bill. We must also report all financial papers with the TN Dept of Charitable Office under the Secretary of State. - Is this just a vanity plate. NO. While this is a specialty plate, it is a actual State of TN License Plate.
- How much are the plates? Initial pre-order for the plate is 35.00 (37.00 for on-line, to cover bank fees), once the plates are out you just have to pay your regular registration fee due at the time.
- When will the plates be out? We are in pre-order. We have to sell 1000 plates in order for it to go live. Once we do the State will send you a letter letting you know to pick up your plate at the County Office.
- Can I pick my number? We are selling plates 1-1000 if there is a number in there you want you can request it and we will let you know if it is available, otherwise we just go in order.
- Can I get my own designation on the plate? Right now the state is only letting us sell plates 1-1000, once the plates are live people can special request a designation on the plate.
- Where will the money raised from this plate go? Half of the money will go to help veterans and their families put food on their table, by providing the VA and VSOs in TN with grocery shopping cards. The other half will be used for small grants to help active service, veterans and their families with things like paying bills, repairing broken home appliances, and helping veteran organizations help veterans in their communities.
- Will the money stay in TN? YES, 100% of the money will go to help active service, veterans and their families in TN.
- Will all the money be spent to help active military, veterans and their families in TN? Yes, since we receive money each year when residents reregister their cars we will be sure to spend all the funds on this program each year. Any money not spent from the grants will buy more grocery shopping cards to give to the VA and VSOs in the community.
- How do I know that the money will go to those in need? Grocery shopping cards will be given to the VA and VSO’s in the community who know which veterans and their families need assistance.
- Can I get more than one plate? YES as long as you have more than one car registered in TN.
- What happens to my old plate once I get this one? When you go to pick up your new plate, you will be asked to turn in your old plate.
- Can only veterans buy these plates? NO, anyone in the state of TN with a car registered here can buy these plates to support veterans and their families.
- I live in another state can I get these plates? NO, these plates are only for people who have cars registered in TN.
